Findlay Park Summer Series

Join us for a Findlay Park Summer Series! Five, 45-minute pop-up musical performances will be held once per month beginning in June and featuring a range of performers celebrating music with Over-the-Rhine connections new and old. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors - these events are free to attend. Musicians will face the Park’s Vine Street entrance (1811 Vine Street). This series is generously sponsored by ArtsWave.  

PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE

June 27 (Sunday) at 2:00pm: Sujean Kim and Friends

July 9 (Friday) at 5:00pm: Ma Crow & Company

August 6 (Friday) at 5:00pm: Khari 

September 30 (Thursday) at 5:00pm: The Ludlow Trio

October 8 (Friday) at 5:00pm: Preston B. Charles III

As an added bonus, at each of these events the Over-the-Rhine Museum will select a raffle prize winner who will receive one of the following $100 gift cards: The Orbit Room (June prize); The Mercer OTR (July prize); Embers Restaurant (August prize); Shake It Records (September prize); and Schwartz's Point Jazz & Acoustic Club (October prize).

Sujean Kim is a violinist and Assistant Concertmaster with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra where she has been a member since 2008. Sujean has been widely praised for her dynamism as a concertmaster, chamber musician, and soloist. She has performed for audiences throughout North America and in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Russia and Korea. Sujean’s most rewarding collaboration these days is with her husband, composer and cellist Isaac Watras, and their sons, Elliott and Benjamin. They live in Over-the-Rhine, where Ms. Kim has played with the Cincinnati Pops, the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Ballet. Ma Crow & Company includes Cincinnati-based musicians Ma Crow (vocals and guitar), Margie Drees (vocals and fiddle), and Vicki Abbott (vocals and bass). Together since 2011, the trio has performed both locally and regionally and produced three albums, “Wayward Daughter,” “Memory of a Mountain,” and “Black Wings.” The group performs music ranging from ballads to bluegrass, and old-time to contemporary music. Khari is a hip-hop author and performer and Founder/CEO of BTB (Be the Best) Entertainment. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Khari was brought up on 90s hip-hop by his father and classic old school jams by his grandparents, which helped him develop a knack for lyricism and soul. Khari released his first mixtape in May 2019, titled "SINSINNATI." This project put Khari into the local shotlight. The album has been recognized as one of Cincinnati’s best hip-hop albums. The Ludlow Trio is a Cincinnati-based band playing eclectic music including Gypsy Jazz, Klezmer, French Creole, and other early 20th century music. The Ludlow Trio (which also performs as a duo or quartet) rotates between musicians Michael McIntire (guitar and vocals), Adam Sanregret (string bass and vocals), Chico Converse (violin and vocals), Dan Walter (tenor banjo and mandolin), and Lara Sabo (clarinet). Preston B. Charles III is a violinist, composer, and founder of Make It Happen Music. He uses the violin to create a fusion of spiritual and energetic sound.
